I have a friend named Johannes. We've been best friends since the age of 9 and I never had any idea that he was gay until this year.





He recently asked me out, but I am scared to tell him that in reality, I am straight.








I love him deeply, though my love is only a brotherly love.

If he is your friend then he deserves the honest truth. Just tell him sorry but your straight. He will understand. He can't help who he cares for and neither can you. If he asked you out, just say, ';sorry, I'm not into guys that way'; or ';sorry I'm straight';, and ';I love you like a friend or a brother';





If you two are best friends, this should be no problem.
Since he is you friend, you can talk to him. Tell him you think the world of him and the friendship you have together, and you always want to be the best of friends, but you must decline his offer unless it is out just as friends, since you are straight. Tell him that you two will always be friends, no matter what happens.
You owe it to yourself and to him to just be honest about your feelings.
Take him to a nice quiet hangout spot. There u will have all the privacy etc that u need. Then start by telling him how u feel about him as a friend. Then say that it can't go any further than that because ur straight. Then say something complimentary like ';if i were gay i would go for u any day'; (of course only say this if u want to). Then tell him that u don't wanna lose him as a friend because u care about him so much and well then just talk it through.

i think you should say, im sorry if i have led you on at all, and i do really like you and dont want anything to change between us,but im pretty sure im straight, try and make him feel less rejected, and say something funny. nd the truth is he made a big step asking you out like that and hes brobably really really worried that he ruined your relationship.and this is one of thoes things that wil change a relationship no matter what. the only way fo salvage it is hang out with him, and make new memories. goodluck
