How to help friend deal with messy break-up?

My best friend has just had a really messy break-up with a guy she had only just started going out with, but has liked and been friends with for a while. It came out that he actually has a girlfriend who lives in another country and he only wanted to use my friend for sex. She really liked him and thought he liked her and so is really hurt. She hasn't been sleeping and is unable to keep any food down. I'm really worried about her so any advice would be appreciated.How to help friend deal with messy break-up?
