How long should i wait should my friend break up with her boyfriend, to date him myself?

my friend, mark, is going out with carly, and i think that he has mixed feelings about me. i am not close to carly, and in the past when it would only be mark, carly and i in a room after someone left to go to the bathroom, etc, she would go from talkative girl to not talking at all. i thought that she saw me as a threat, but i never once gave her any reason not to like me or think i was going after mark. earlier this week, mark broke up with her, and i out of care and respect gave carly my number and told her to call me whenever she needed to talk or hang out/chill. we had earlier plans for carly, mark, and my best friend/mark's cousin to hang out this weekend... and now that they broke up i am still going to lunch with her and my best friend. i think they may get back together, but mark tries to hold my hand and cuddle alot with me even when they were going out. i would go for it he wasn't taken. idk if should i go for it though, and how long after if they don't get back together...?How long should i wait should my friend break up with her boyfriend, to date him myself?
NO WAY JOSE'...That would make you look like a backstabber even if you and this chick aren't even that close. Reason being is because you opened that door to friendship when you gave her your number and said that if ';she ever needed to talk'; you'd be there. You setting up dates has moved you from just knowing her, to cruisin into the ';friendship zone';. I wouldn't do it. And what kind of guy is this to not care that the three of you used to hang out??? Its way to awkward and weird. Don't do it. Just the mere fact that you are second guessing yourself shows that there is doubt that what you want to do is the right thing ...How long should i wait should my friend break up with her boyfriend, to date him myself?
If you and Mark want to continue being friends leave your relationship as it is. When you begin dating both of you will be two totally different people. Find someone with the same qualities as Mark.
